The sign below for Wainfleet council
was first sculptured in clay and finally cast in
aluminium. The image is in low relief protruding
approximately 1.5 inches from the main casting.
The
historic building is of the Magdalen School and
was built by Wainfleet's famous son "William
of Wainfleet" in 1484. He also founded
Magdalen College Oxford and later became Lord
Chancellor and bishop of Winchester.
